Game Wraps, June 1, 2008

There was a full slate of games across the International League during the first day of June. Here are the results.

The PawSox are now a game behind Scranton/Wilkes Barre in the IL North as the Yankees fell to the Rochester Red Wings, 8-7. Eric Duncan did have a homer and drove in four runs for SWB. BOX

The Syracuse Chiefs are only 1 1/2 games behind after Danny Sandoval belted a two-run, walk-off homer to beat the Norfolk Tides, 5-4. BOX

The Columbus Clippers banged out 10 hits, but only one run, which was not enough to beat the Buffalo Bisons, who won 2-1. BOX

Eddie Bonine notched his ninth victory of the season as the Toledo Mud Hens beat the Indianapolis Indians, 5-3. BOX

The Charlotte Knights scored five runs in the first, enough to beat the Richmond Braves going away, 8-2. BOX

Casey Smith drove in the go ahead run in the top of the tenth as the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs nipped the Louisville Bats, 5-4. BOX
