Jeff Bailey went 3 for 4, driving in two runs and scoring twice as the PawSox split their four game series with the Syracuse Chiefs, winning 6-2 this afternoon at Alliance Bank Stadium.
One of Bailey's hits was his fifth homer of the season, leading off the game in the first. His 3 or 4 day raised his batting average to .318 for the year.
The PawSox scored their other runs on an RBI single by Chad Spann in the fourth and singles by Bailey, Keith Ginter (2 RBIs) and Sean Danielson in the seventh. Ginter, Dusty Brown, and Danielson each had two hits for the PawSox.
Pawtucket starter Michael Tejera (2-2) earned the victory, pitching 5 2/3 innings giving up one run on four hits. Chris Smith gave up the other Syracuse run over his 1 1/3 innings of work. Abe Alvarez and Eric Hull pitched the final two innings in scoreless fashion.
Syracuse starter David Purcey (3-2) took the loss, giving up two runs over six innings.
The PawSox finished their 9-game New York trip at 4-5 and head back home to McCoy for an 8-game homestand beginning tomorrow night (6:15pm) with the first of four games against the Durham Bulls.
