PawSox Up 2-0 Through Four

The PawSox upped their lead to 2-0 over the Iron Pigs through four innings.

With one out in the third, Joe Thurston singled to right. Following a Keith Ginter strikeout and a Thurston steal of second, Jed Lowrie walked. Carter then got his second hit of the game, an RBI single to center, scoring Thurston.

PawSox starter Chris Smith was impressive in his four innings of work as a fill-in for Bartolo Colon. He gave up only two hits, struck out seven and walked only one on 75 pitches, 49 strikes.
