PawSox Trio Homers to Lead Sweep of Tides, 9-6

Jeff Bailey, Jed Lowrie, and Jonathan Van Every belted four home runs accounting for 8 runs as the PawSox completed their sweep of the Norfolk Tides, 9-6 last night at McCoy. The win was Pawtucket's sixth straight.

Bailey again led the charge, belting a pair of homers, a solo shot to lead off the first and a two run tater in the third. Lowrie (2-run) and Van Every's (3-run) homers came in the PawSox' 5-run second inning. The trio each had two hits in the game.

The PawSox' other run came courtesy a George Kottaras RBI singe in the first.

Pawtucket opened up a 7-0 lead after three innings for starter Davern Hansack. Hansack (1-4) got the win, but he did yield five runs over 5 innings. Eric Hull gave up the sixth Tide run on a solo homer by Scott Moore in the seventh. Jon Switzer and Chris Smith combined to pitch two scoreless innings out of the pen.

Norfolk starter Craig Anderson (1-3) struggled for the third straight start, taking the loss. He gave up all 9 runs (8 earned) on 10 hits in only 2 1/3 innings of work.

Eider Torres and Luis Terrero each drove in two runs for the Tides.

The PawSox will be away from McCoy for the next eight days as they begin a road trip with four games beginning tomorrow night (7:05pm) in Buffalo against the Bisons. RHP Kyle Snyder (1-1, 3.80) pitches for Pawtucket. RHP Brian Slocum (3-2, 3.62) will toe the mound for Buffalo.
