According to this piece in the ProJo, David Pauley's stint in Boston is one and done. Pauley, called up to make a start in place of the ailing Josh Beckett, pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up five runs on seven hits. He struck out 3 and walked 2.
The article goes on to say that the Sox will wait to see who they will bring up to fill the open roster spot. A lot rides on the health of Jason Varitek, who has been sidelined with the flu. If he remains ill, either George Kottaras or Dusty Brown could see a short trip up north. If Varitek can play, the Sox may go with an outfielder.
