I will not be at McCoy for today's game...but a few notes for those of you who will brave the chilly elements;
First and foremost, make sure you get to see the 2004 and 2007 Sox World Series trophies. They are quite a site.
On to the game...Two more season debuts today as the Indians will send RHP Luis Munoz to the mound to face the PawSox' Davern Hansack.
Indians' News and Notes:
Munoz spent most of 2007 in Double-A Altoona where he compiled a record of 12-5 with a 3.63 ERA. He finished the season with the Indians going 2-1 with a 3.12 ERA over three starts.
Adam Boeve is off to a hot start...batting .500 through three games.
Pirates' number one prospect Andrew McCutchen had a an impressive performance during yesterday's twin bill...going 2 for 2 with a homer, 3 RBI, 3 walks and a stolen base.
PawSox News and Notes:
Hansack makes his first start of 2008 after going 10-7 with a 3.61 ERA in 2007. His 10 wins led the club. He also pitched the most innings (139.2) and had the most strikeouts (131) of anyone on the staff a year ago. He made three spring training appearances for the Red Sox without a decision and a 5.40 ERA.
OF Chris Carter is off to a hot start, getting a hit in all three games thus far this season and is batting .556.
OF Jonathan Van Every belted his second homer of the season yesterday in Game 1 of the twin bill.
C George Kottaras belted his first homer of the season yesterday while driving in three.
SS Jed Lowrie is off to a tough start, still looking for his first hit of 2008.
I'll have more news at games end...Enjoy!
