The PawSox wrap-up their 8 game road trip tonight (7:15pm) with the finale of a four game set in Indianapolis against the Indians. Pawtucket is 2-5 so far on the trip and looks to head back home on a positive note. Because of the International League's unbalanced schedule, this is the last regular season meeting between the two teams.
The PawSox send Charlie Zink (1-1, 3.65) to the mound. He'll be opposed by Bryan Bullington (0-1, 3.71) for the Indians. Here's more from the clubs:
Pawtucket Red Sox (8-7)
This is Zink's fourth start of the season. He has pitched exceptionally well in his last two starts, hurling 9 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
George Kottaras has a six game hitting streak, through which he has batted .400 with 4 doubles, 4 homers, and 9 RBI's. IF Jeff Natale has had an impressive start since being called up to Pawtucket. Through two games he is batting .444.
Indianapolis Indians (11-4)
The Indians enter the game having won 11 of 13 and possess the best record in the International League.
Bullington enters the game having pitched at least five innings in his previous five starts. His lone loss came at the hands of the PawSox in the season opener April 3rd at McCoy. Since then he has pitched 12 innings and given up only four earned runs.
Top prospect Steve Pearce has now hit in seven straight games and is coming off last night's monster performance when he belted two homers and drove in all 5 Indians' runs. Over the streak he is batting .348 with 9 RBI's. OF Andrew McCutchen has a six game hitting streak going, batting .316 over the stretch.
