The PawSox' offense could not get on track against Louisville starter Justin Lehr as the Bats (7-3) came away with a 3-1 victory this afternoon at Slugger Field in Louisville.
Lehr pitched well for the second consecutive outing, holding the PawSox (6-4) scoreless over seven innings to improve his record to 2-0. His ERA dropped to 0.60
PawSox starter Michael Tejera (0-1) had a shaky start, giving up two runs in the first inning. He then settled down to pitch scoreless ball until being removed with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The PawSox did not get in the board until the ninth on an RBI single by Brandon Moss.
Game three of the series is tomorrow afternoon (1:15pm) as Chris Smith (0-0) will get his second start since being called up from Double A Portland. He will be opposed by the Reds' top pitching prospect Homer Bailey (0-1)
