Bartolo On His Outing

Bartolo Colon spoke to reporters soon after his five inning outing tonight at McCoy. Here is what he had to say through interpreter Cookie Rojas...

On his outing:

“The way I pitched today, I felt I had control” I thought I pitched particularly well." he said, "I felt I was consistent throughout the whole game.”

On the effects of the cold weather:

“It never really affected me because I pitched in Cleveland where it was cold.”

On whether he feels his performance merits a promotion to Boston:

“It's not my decision. Whatever management wants me to do I'll accommodate whatever they want me to do." he said, "I know I’ll be pitching again in five days. Not sure if it will be here or with the big club."

On his health:

"My arm feels good. I'm healthy." “I want to make sure I’m ready to perform. I don’t want to have to come back down if I don’t have to."

On the Opening Day crowd:

"I was very impressed with the fans..I appreciate the support."
