Game 118- PawSox vs. Yankees, August 5, 2008

The PawSox look to regain the top spot in the IL North Division if they are able to defeat the Scranton/Wilkes barre Yankees tonight (7:00pm) in Moosic, PA. RHP Bartolo Colon (2-0, 0.64 ERA) makes a rehab start for the PawSox. He'll be opposed by Yankees LHP Kei Igawa (11-5, 3.55 ERA).

The Yankees hold a 2-1 edge so far on this six game stretch between the two clubs. They took the IL North lead with a 3-2 win last night.

Here is a brief preview of the game...

Pawtucket Red Sox (71-46)

The PawSox find themselves in second place for the first time since June 16th. Despite losing their last two games to the Yankees, the PawSox still hold a 6-5 edge in the season series to date.

Colon makes his fourth start for Pawtucket tonight. He was sent down by the Red Sox as part of a rehab assignment. Colon was placed on the disabled list June 17th with a lower back strain. In his previous starts fro Pawtucket Colon has been spectacular, giving up only one run over 14 innings.

Micheal Bowden is expected to follow Colon tonight in what was originally scheduled to be his start.

Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees (72-46)

The Yankees have won two in a row over Pawtucket and are winners of seven of their last ten.

Igawa makes his 20th start tonight. He has won his last three starts, giving up a total of only 5 earned runs in 20 innings on the mound.
