Bailey, Zink Capture IL Honors

For the first time in team history the Pawtucket Red Sox have teammates that have earned the International League MVP and Pitcher of the Year Awards.

OF/1B Jeff Bailey was named the IL's MVP while Charlie Zink was named Pitcher of the Year.

Bailey is among the league leaders in many offensive categories including runs scored (1st), home runs (3rd), OBP (3rd), slugging (2nd) and OPS (1st). He is the first PawSox player to earn MVP honors since Pat Dobson took home the award in 1986.

Zink is tied for the league lead in wins (14) and WHIP (1.10) He is second in ERA (2.92) and innings pitched (166 1/3). Zink is the first PawSox pitcher to win the award since Brian Rose in 1997.

Bailey and Zink were joined by IF/OF Joe Thurston and OF Chris Carter on the end of the season International League All-Star team.
