Four Norfolk pitchers shut down the PawSox offense, limiting it to only five hits, as the Tides blanked Pawtucket 4-0 last night. The win was Norfolk's second straight over the PawSox and eighth in row overall.
Tides starter Chris Waters (3-5) was impressive, pitching six scoreless innings giving up only two hits. Relievers Randy Keisler and Jim Miller yielded only three hits over their combined three innings of work.
PawSox starter Davern Hansack (4-9) took the loss, surrendering three runs on four hits over six innings. Hansack gave up two solo homers, to Luis Terrero in the second and Tike Redman in the fifth. Jose Vaquedano gave up the fourth Norfolk run in the seventh.
The PawSox were unable to advance any runner past second base. George Kottaras had two of the PawSox' five hits. Terrero had two hits for the Tides.
The two teams will play game three of the four game set tonight (7:15pm). David Pauley (11-2) throws for the PawSox. He'll be opposed by Hayden Penn (4-4) for the Tides.
