The four members of the Pawtucket Red Sox who were part of the International League squad in last night's Triple-A All-Star Game had varying levels of success.
Chris Carter served as the team's DH and belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth in the IL's 6-5 loss to the Pacific Coast League All-Stars. Carter's blast was the only homer struck by either team.
Joe Thurson proved why he is leading the International League in hitting by going 3 for 4 with a walk. He was the only hitter on either team to collect three hits in the game.
Jeff Bailey made two plate appearances and was o for 1 with a walk. Jonathan Van Every replaced Bailey in left field and finished the night 0 for 3 with two strike outs.
The PawSox are back at it tonight as they begin a four game series at McCoy against the Toledo Mud Hens. RHP Virgil Vasquez (6-8, 4.32) throws for Toledo. RHP Edgar Martinez (3-1, 3.93) takes the mound for Pawtucket.
With the anticipated appearance of Red Sox DH David Ortiz in the PawSox line-up on a rehab assignment, tickets for the series are sold out.
