Ortiz Homers, PawSox Take Lead, 7-0

David Ortiz belted a solo homer to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning as the PawSox have a 7-0 lead over the Toledo Mud Hens.

Ortiz lined a 1-2 pitch straight to right firld that just cleared the short fence in front of the Toledo bullpen.

After Chris Carter followed Ortiz with a single to right, George Kottaras deposited a homer deep into the right centerfield stands to give Pawtucket the 3-0 edge.

The PawSox were not done. Jeff Corsaletti collected his first Triple-A hit with a single to right. After Keith Ginter walked, both runners advanced on a wild pitch. They were driven in on a Gil Velazquez single to center. After Jonathan Van Every struck out, Jeff Bailey belted a homer into the PawSox bullpen, his 24th of the season. Ortiz ended the inning on a sharp liner to first.
