The long holiday weekend is over. Here is how Sunday's action across the International League shaped up from Sunday...

The story of the day was the pitching performance by Lehigh Valley's Les Walrond. He struck out 17 batters in the Iron Pigs' 2-0 shutout of Louisville. BOX

Alberto Gonzalez belted a solo homer in the top of the 12th to lead the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees to a 5-4 win over the Toledo Mud Hens. BOX

Rain forced a pair of games to end early. The Norfolk Tides scored five runs in the second inning to defeat the Durham Bulls 8-3 in a game shortened to 6 innings. BOX

Rain limited the game in Charlotte to eight innings with the Knights dominating the Rochester Red Wings, 9-1. BOX

Alex Escobar hit a two-run pinch hit homer to tie the game in the ninth and Ryan Langerhans scored on a passed ball in the tenth to lead the Columbus Clippers to a 4-3 win over the Indianapolis Indians. BOX

David Purcey had a strong outing for the Syracuse Chiefs, throwing seven scoreless innings in the Chief's 4-0 shut out of the Buffalo Bisons. BOX
