Clay Buchholz has had a positive start through four innings tonight at McCoy. He has given up only one run with the PawSox on top 4-1.
Buchholz gave up the run in the third. With one out Jason Pridie laced a triple to right center. Chris Basak drove him in with a single to right but was picked off trying to stretch the hit into a double.
Buchholz retired the side in order in the fourth striking out Santos and McDonald. Through four he has thrown 55 pitches, 33 of them strikes. He has struck out three and walked two. He did come out to the mound to start the fifth. He is on a 65 pithh limit.
The PawSox scored two more runs run in the fourth. With one out Chad Spann struck out but made it all the way to second on a wild pitch by Brian Duensing. After Gil Velazquez reached on an infield hit, Spann scored on a fielder's choice by Sean Danielson. Danielson stole second and was driven home on a double to right center by Jeff Bailey.
