The Philadelphia Phillies begin the 2008 season with a new Triple A affiliate. The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs begin play in a brand new stadium built in Allentown, PA.
The team's name comes from the reference to pig iron, which is used in the manufacturing of steel, a world-renowned industry in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania.
The Iron Pigs are in Pawtucket for a four game series this week with the PawSox. It's been tough going for the team as they've started the season 0-6.
Here is a look at the Iron Pigs with Jeff Shuler, Lehigh Valley beat reporter from The Morning Call in Allentown.
